ruffles and twirls...and a discount for you beauties

Pretend I'm smiling like a normal person. And not doing some weird thing with my foot.
*I received this dress for free from eShakti in exchange for this post giving them some publicity, but all opinions you are about to read are 100% my own. If you are a business and would like to be featured, please email me at sew.my.soul.kl@gmail.com to see how we can work together.
I'm totally a dress girl. All year long, I love to be in dresses. Spring and summer? Light, airy and feminine. Fall and winter? Sturdy, comfy, and elegant. When I first heard about eShakti last year I began a long stalking process of all of their dresses, never quite wanting to purchase since, as you all know, I am very cheap and like to shop clearance and Goodwill. But I loved that they offered sizes 0-36, and customize any item for a really small fee. It's truly a store with real, classic pieces for real women.
So, when I got word from eShakti that they would send me a dress of my choice, I did a celebratory dance, squealed a little, and then calmed myself to write a very professional sounding response back that didn't include the phrase "OMG OMG YES PLEASE YES!" And then I spent two hours carefully selecting the perfect one.
And then it arrived. And it was even better than I thought.
From the moment I first touched it, I was amazed at the quality of craftsmanship in the dress. I know a thing or two about clothing construction, and guys, eShakti makes some well constructed clothes. Like, really well.
Then I put it on. And the fit was perfect. I had given them some special measurements because standard sizes tend to not quite fit my small chest and larger bottom, so I was a little worried I may have over-accommodated one part or the other. But it fit perfectly.
The color, the ruffles, the pockets, the full circle skirt...I love everything about this dress. I stood in the living room twirling round and round in it for a good ten minutes while Husband made fun of me and occasionally paused to say, "Babe, for real though, that dress is awesome."

I cannot recommend eShakti enough. My friends have all heard about it now, some have been told that this is the perfect source for versatile bridesmaids dresses, some have been coerced into coming over to take pictures of me in my dress (thanks Claire! Best neighbor friend ever!) Basically I've been talking this online store up so much no one in my real life wants to talk to me anymore.
Obviously I don't do many outfit posts. I kind of forgot about the smile and show your face part.
So, now that I've probably gushed too much about the dress and the brand, here's a little gift for you for putting up with it. All you wonderful ladies (or men shopping for your ladies--kudos to you for awesomeness) can have 10% off your order between right this minute and July 24, 2014.
All you have to do is go to eShakti.com, pick some stuff, and then use promo code sewingsoules. You can't use the code on gift cards (duh, you can't buy money for less money) or on clearance items, but the rest of your order is fair game!
So why are you still here? GO SHOPPING, FRIENDS!

  4. as soon as I saw the picture, I thought it looked a LOT like an eShakti dress I picked up BRAND NEW at goodwill awhile ago. Mine is yellow and looks like it's a different material, but still just as beautiful and ruffly and twirly. the goodwills in the seattle area sometimes get a lot of brand new eShakti dresses so i wonder if they are located near seattle or something and donate their overstock. anyway. LOVE the dress!!
