a friday morning coffee date & a giveaway worth sweating for

Dearest Love

If you came over for coffee I would tell you how overwhelmingly humbled I felt by the responses to my real and honest post about the first year of marriage. How amazed I was to see my words resonating with people, and helping them to see that it is okay to be struggling in what is supposedly the honeymoon stage. I would tell you how much grace I saw through these reactions to my words, and how it brought tears to my eyes to know that God allows us to have such beautiful friendships through this crazy thing called blogging.

If you came over for coffee, I would tell you that curating a capsule wardrobe is not as painful as I thought it would be. Except for the shoes...I can't seem to cut down on my shoes. But having a few options in pieces that work together in many ways has made my morning much less stressful and left me feeling so much more confident than I have in a while. And living with less has felt so much better. Life isn't less with less stuff. It feels fuller now that I have some empty drawers and shelves.

If you came over for coffee today, I would tell you that so far September is turning out so so much better than August. I'm finally feeling better after a month of constant migraines that were a lovely side effect from a minor medical procedure back in July. My body has finally adjusted to the changes and I'm so glad because I feel like now I can actually do things like work on my diet and fitness goals again.

Which brings me to the giveaway mentioned in the title of this post. Christine is the most inspiring mama ever. She has worked out three times a week without fail for the last year. Not even slacking one. single. week. And I'm absolutely amazed and inspired and am now ready to take on my own fitness challenge. You can, too, with all of the amazing tools we're giving away to help her celebrate accomplishing her goal!

You can click on any blogger's picture above and it will take you straight to their blog! Neat, huh?

Now for the giveaway details:

    1. I hate exercise in practice but love it in theory hahaha so I'm using Christine as my motivator right now! She's got a job, a husband, a toddler, and she's working out hardcore? Dang. I gotta get on it.

  3. I read your post about your first year of marriage and girl, I just wanted to high five you like nineteen times. Amen, amen, and AMEN. My husband and I had a crazy stressful engagement period and I lot of it carried over into our first year of marriage. We just celebrated our one year anniversary last weekend, and in so many ways I'm sort of surprised that we made it. You're right - there is so much grace. So, so, SO much.

    1. The first year in many regards has sucked. And we had even more issues than I even wrote about because I didn't want to sound like a total downer haha but grace is the most amazing gift ever and has made even the very worst times so worth it when we have little moments, little successes, sometimes big successes, and I know we're starting to find our rhythm now. If it wasn't for grace, though, I don't know how we would get through.

  5. I loved your first year of marriage post! It's so nice to hear some honesty. I am several years into marriage, and I can honestly say those hard times grow your marriage in ways you could never imagine! Also, I am struggling in the shoe department with my capsule wardrobe too. I don't miss having tons of clothing options at all, but I miss my shoes!

    1. That is what I've heard from many! My parents are celebrating their 26th anniversary on Oct. 7th and my grandparents just celebrated their 51st so I've got some good examples of outlasting the toughest of days! And the shoes...it's just so hard to say goodbye...

  7. I need to get myself in gear. I'm 2.5 months postpartum and it is just so. difficult. with two little ones now getting any exercise in throughout the day. It's always at the bottom of my to-do list. I need to find a way for it to make it to the top! :)

    1. I can't even imagine! I'm sure that's quite the hectic schedule! I've seen a lot of gyms--at least where we live--that have like a babysitting service while mom works out, so maybe a gym near you has it too?

  8. So glad you're beginning to feel normal again! I totally feel your pain on not adjusting to the procedure (I think I know what you're talking about..I think you mentioned it in the group retreat text once before). My body never adjusted, so I had to get it removed. Ugh.

Anyways, I'm totally out of my work out routine, and i'd love to get back into it by walking and jogging more. Now that the weather should be cooling off soon, I'll definitely want to be out more!

    1. Yep that's the one. I'm finally leveling out, praise the Lamb, because that procedure...don't want to do it for as long as I have to.

I'm completely out of it too! August in the South makes it so hard to want to do anything because it's soooo hot. But it's finally slightly below 90 most days so I'm thinking I'll be able to be outside more and get back to it!
