meet abi + a custom print giveaway

I've told you before that I have some really wonderful and talented friends. Today I'd like you to meet one of them.

Abi is a dear friend from college who just opened her Etsy shop. She does lovely handlettered prints full of encouraging and inspiring messages. This woman has such a passion for Jesus it's contagious and has been a big part of my walk with Christ. We have so much fun together, and laugh pretty much constantly. I'm so excited to feature her work along with my new blog friend, Robyn at Robyn's Nest, and introduce Abi's new business to all of you!

So without further ado, here is Abi in her own words!

Hello blog world! I'm so excited about partnering with Kaitlin as we both have a fond love of the arts and all that they encompass.
The business world is a whole new venture for me as I've spent part of the last three years loving on the people of East Africa. I never imagined that I would return home and find myself diving into a project like this!

I got started with Pickles and Chips because of a conversation that I had with my boyfriend before we were actually dating. I've always been shy about sharing my art with others and giving people the ability to decide if it was good or not. He pointed out to me that I have clearly been given a gift and that I had to decide if I was going to be the guy in the parable that invests what his master gave him, or if I was just going to guard my gift and keep it safe.
So, here I am. Sharing and investing my gift in probably one of the scariest ways possible (to me at least.) At the end of the day, however, my vision for P&C is that people would be reminded that they are hand made, hand picked by Jesus. I hope to inspire people to embrace who they are and what their purpose is in this life. I believe we are all creative in some capacity and I hope that in some small way I can help unleash that spark in others.

Most of my inspiration for my creations comes from what I'm learning in my quiet time. Sometimes it's a song that has been on repeat for a few days. Sometimes it's something my sweet Tom says to me. And, on occasion, my love for Africa and those red dirt roads will slip in.
I hope you all enjoy the things in my store. But, most of all I hope you're inspired to go create something that you can share with the world!
